6. Liechtenstein: Liechtenstein is the sixth smallest country in this world. The total area of land covered by this country is 160 square kilometers and the total population is calculated as 36,281. Liechtenstein also lies in the European continent and is the smallest country in the world that borders more than one other country. German is their native language and the currency used is Swiss Franc.

7. Marshall Islands: Marshall Islands is on the seventh position in the list of smallest countries in the world. Marshall Islands is yet another smallest country from the Oceania continent, the total land area covered by the Marshall Islands is 181 square kilometers and the total population here is about 68,000. Marshall Islands includes the Kwajalein, Enewetak, Utirik and Rongelap. Marshallese is the official language used here and the currency used is United States Dollar (USD).

8. Saint Kitts and Nevis: Saint Kitts and Nevis is the world’s eight smallest country and falls in the North American continent. The total area of the Saint Kitts and Nevis is recorded as 261 square kilometers and the total population here is about 53,000. This is the smallest country in the Americas and the Western Hemisphere. The official language used here is English and the currency used is East Caribbean dollar.

9. Maldives: Maldives is the ninth smallest country in the world and it is located in the Asian continent. The total area covered by the Maldives is 300 square kilometers and the total land area is 298 square kilometers. The total population of Maldives is 328,536, this is the smallest country in the Asian continent and is very famous tourist destination. The official language used here is Maldivian and the currency used is Maldivian rufiyaa.

10. Malta: Malta is the tenth smallest country of the world. This is another small European country with a total area of 316 square kilometers and the total population of Malta is about 452,515. Malta is also famous for its beautiful locations and is a hub for tourists. The official language used here is Maltese and English and the currency used in this country is Euro.
