Following are some of the most venomous snakes in the world:

1.Fierce Snake (Inland Taipan): Commonly known as the Western Taipan, this fierce snake is mostly found in the semi- arid areas of Central East Australia. Frederick McCoy was the first person to describe this species, it was William John Macleay who threw some more light on its existence. However it became a mystery later on for the next 90 years.

2. Eastern Brown Snake: is a species of genus Pseudonaja, often referred to as the common brown snake. This snake is considered the world’s second most poisonous land snake on the basis of its LD50 value. It is most commonly found in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

3. Blue Krait: Found in Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand & Singapore, this highly venomous species is also known as the Malayan krait. It has a white body with broad black bands across it. It feeds majorly on snakes & species of shinks.

4. Black Mamba: Majorly found in the Sahara desert of Africa, black mambas are also known as black mamba or the black mouthed mambas. They are considered as the most dangerous snake species across the world. There enormous combination of speed & an unpredictable aggression make them one of the most precarious snake species. They usually enjoy the title of being the fastest snakes in the world with the capability to move at 4.32 to 5.4 meters per second for covering short distances.

5. Tiger Snake: Tiger snakes are a type of poisonous snakes found across the southern regions of Australia. They vary in size & color and show distinct variation in color depending upon the changes in season. Having a total length of approximately 10 ft, this snakebite can prove fatal for humans. It majorly uses its venom to catch a prey and can bite a species which is aggressive.

6. Philippine Cobra: Also known as the Northern Philippine cobra, this snake species is a highly formidable cobra belonging to the northern regions of Philippines. It has a medium length with long cervical ribs, if in case it sees any threats around it, it forms a hood.

7. Viperidae (Vipers): they are a family of poisonous snakes which are found across the globe except for countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Hawaii etc. They have long & hinged fangs which allow penetration & injection of poison.

8. Common Death Adder: commonly known as the most poisonous species in snakes across the world, the Common Death Adder is a species of Death Adder which range back their origin to Australia. They are found in forests & grasslands situated on the Eastern Coast of Australia.

9. Rattlesnake: they are basically predators who live in a variety of habitats. They hunt small animals & rodents for their food. Rather than constricting, these snakes hunt their prey by a poisonous bite. They release hemotoxic venom which in turn travels into the body of the prey via the blood stream which proves fatal.

10: Boomslang snake: It is a large venomous snake which belongs to the family of Colubridae. They are usually oviparous and produce on an average of 30 eggs which are deposited into hollow trunks of the tree or in logs which are left to be rotten.
