We have heard of so many wars in the past, but do you know which country has the biggest and the strongest army in this world. On the basis of figures and facts we would like to share the world’s top eight most powerful armies.

1. United States Armed Forces: On the top we have the Armed Forces of United States of America. The military forces of United States consist of Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine Corps. The President of the United States controls the complete activities of the military. After the President, there is defense secretary below him who manages the Department of Defense orders. To synchronize with the military acts, the president has a National Security council advisory which is leaded by the National Security Advisor.

2. Russian Armed Forces: On the second position we have the great and very strong armed forces of Russia. The military forces of Russia were made after the disbanding of the Soviet Union. The Russian armed forces were increased with a record of 5.3 million soldiers. They just not stop here but also manufactured more than 70,000 tanks for battle. These tanks consist of T-54/55/62 series which was the best models available at that time for battle. Russia has its armed forces that cover Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force.

3. People’s Liberation Army, China: China is the most populated country in the world and their armed forces is as powerful as United States and Russia because of its nuclear weapons. The military of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and was launched on August 1, 1927. The Chinese forces are investing its assets to modernize the army and the equipments. This is the biggest army in the world with more than 2,285,000 armed men. They also have about 8,000 tanks, 5,000 aircrafts of different types and more than 972 warships.

4. British Armed Forces: On the fourth spot we have the British Armed Forces who were the largest naval power in the world until the Second World War (1939-1945). The British forces were never very high in numbers but they are very professional and equipped with latest tanks, missiles and ammunitions.  British army is famous for its bravery and professionalism. The armed forces are governed by the Defense Council of the Ministry of Defense and it is leaded by the Secretary of State for Defense.

British Armed Forces

5. French Army: On the fifth position we have the French Army. During the tenure of Cold War, the French army protected from the threat of the communism by making their own nuclear force. They also introduced three traditional ways of launching the nuclear weapons, they were aircrafts, submarines and missile silos. Europe has one of the main military industries who produce tanks and aircrafts. The French army is quite aggressive.

6. Korean People’s Army: On the sixth position we have the Korean People’s Army who comprises of the military forces of North Korea. They are struck by poverty and this country is recorded as on e of the most militarized country of the world. The Korean people’s Army has five main branches the Special Operation Force, the Navy, Ground Force, , the Strategic Rocket Forces and the Air Force. The Korean People’s Army has developed their own technology to manufacture nuclear power weapons.

7. South Korean Armed Forces: The South Korean Armed Forces was created in the 1948. The South Korean armed forces are one of the biggest forces in the world with a total strength of 3,539,000 army personnel. The South Korean Armed forces faced some problem because of the crisis with the Communists, the equipments for battle were not of very high quality. They developed all their equipments locally with the help of the Yankees. The South Korea faced a heavy damage from the North Korea and China attacks and South Korea was totally depended upon the America in terms of equipments, ammunitions, vehicles, weapons and all the assets for war.

8. Indian Armed Forces: On the eighth spot we have the Indian Armed Forces. India is the second largest populated country and it consists of major four defense services, Indian Navy, Army, Indian Coast Guard and Indian Air Force. Indian army is always into action because of its neighbor country. India is the world’s third largest military force with having more than 1,325,000 soldiers. They are possessed with nuclear weapons and missiles.
