We are here again with the information about the top ten most livable places in the word which are based on the criteria such as stability, health, education, infrastructure and culture and environment. The highlights include the Australian and Canadian cities in the list, but also there are two European cities in our list. One can easily be happy in a place where unemployment is almost zero, where the crime rate is below average level, or where education and health work perfectly. Following are the top ten most livable place in the world:

1. Melbourne, Australia: Melbourne is on the top of our list. Melbourne is the largest city of the state of Victoria, Australia. It was the capital of Australia between 1901 and 1927. It was chosen in 2011 also as the best city in the world to live for the high quality of life and low poverty ratios here. It was also selected as favorite places for turistas.4 by June 5 is the second largest city in population, after Sydney , with approximately 3.8 million inhabitants in its metropolitan area. It is located in the lower reaches of the Yarra River and the shores of Port Phillip Bay to the north and east . Melbourne ‘s name also is used to describe the geographic region of Greater Melbourne.7 The historic center , the City of Melbourne, has only 71,380 inhabitants ( 2006 data) .8 Today, the city is an important center of commerce, industry and cultural activity.

2. Vancouver, Canada: This city is on the second places. Located in the southwest of the province of British Columbia, between the Strait of Georgia and the Coast Mountains, Vancouver is a city on the Pacific coast of Canada. The city was named after Captain George Vancouver, a British explorer. It is part of the metropolitan area of Greater Vancouver Regional District, with a population of 2,313,328 inhabitants (2011), it is the largest western Canadian metropolitan area and the third in the country after Toronto and Montreal. Vancouver itself has 603,502 people. It was considered one of the three cities with the best quality of life in worldwide in the year 2002 also. It was ranked 56th among cities in which living is more expensive, being surpassed only by Toronto in Canada, this list included 144 major cities worldwide.

3. Vienna, Austria: Vienna is on the third position in our list. Its a Central European city located on the banks of the Danube, in the valley of the Vienna Woods. It is the capital of Austria and one of its nine federal states (Bundesland Wien). It is surrounded by the state of Lower Austria. Vienna is the largest city, cultural and political center of Austria. It is also the tenth largest city in the European Union and its metropolitan area has 2.4 million inhabitants, similar to that of the city population in 1914. The official language is German.

4. Toronto, Canada: Toronto is the capital of the province of Ontario, and it deserves the fourth position as the most livable cities in the world. With a population of 2,615,060 inhabitants, Toronto is the largest city in Canada, and the financial center of the country. It is located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario, and it is the fifth largest city in North America. Toronto is at the heart of the Greater Toronto Area, the largest metropolitan area in Canada, and is part of a densely populated region in south-central Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe, home to eight million people.

5. Calgary, Canada: It is the largest city in the province of Alberta, Canada and also one of the best cities to live. It is located in a region of foothills and high plains, approximately 80 km east of the Rocky Mountains. Calgary is the third city in Canada in terms of population, according to the census counted 2011 with 1,096,833 inhabitants. The estimated population of the metropolitan area was 1,214,839 inhabitants, making it the fifth largest in Canada. Calgary ‘s economy is centered mainly in the oil industry, with agriculture, tourism and high technology also contribute to the rapid economic development of the city. 6. Helsinki, Finland: Helsinki is one of the most livable cities across the world. It is the capital and largest city in Finland with 602,200 inhabitants in the municipality and 1,344,757 in Greater Helsinki. The city has the largest immigrant population in the country. 7. Sydney, Australia: In our list of most livable cities in the world, beautiful Australian city Sydney is on seventh position. It is the most populous city in Australia with an urban area comprising a 2009 population of 4,490,662 inhabitants spread over nearly 12,150 km. It is the capital of the state of New South Wales and is located on the southeast coast of the country. Its inhabitants are called Sydneysiders or Sydneyites. First European colony in Australia, Sydney was established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by Captain Arthur Phillip, who commanded the First Fleet from the United Kingdom. Built on both sides of the bay of Port Jackson can accommodate ten thousand ships, Sydney is Australia’s largest financial center and an international tourist destination known for its beaches and its two main monuments, which are, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

8. Perth, Australia: Perth is a city in Australia and the state capital of Western Australia. It is considered as one of the most livable cities of the world. It is located southwest of the western coast of Australia, on the banks of the Swan River. Its population was 1,658,992 inhabitants in 2009, making it the fourth largest city in the country. Founded in 1829 by Captain James Stirling as the first point of introduction of a new British colony, the Swan River Colony, Perth continued to serve as the seat of the Government of Western Australia until now.

9. Adelaide, Australia: Adelaide is the fifth largest city in Australia and the capital of South Australia. It is a coastal town on the eastern shore of the Gulf of St. Vincent in the Adelaide Plains, north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, west of the Mont-Lofty which rises to 727 meters. Adelaide had 1,187,466 inhabitants in the metropolitan area in 2009. Before the arrival of Europeans, the area was occupied by the Kaurna Aboriginal people. The city is named after Queen Adelaide, the consort queen consort of King William IV.

10. Auckland, New Zealand: Located in the North Island of New Zealand, Auckland is the largest urban area in the country. It is the most populous city in New Zealand with approximately 1.3 million people, and demographics indicate that it will continue to grow faster than the rest of the country. Auckland is also the city that houses the world’s largest number of people of Polynesian origin. It is a conurbation consisting of the cities of Auckland. It is one of the best cities to live in the world.
